Manufacturing Planner

This is a high-level overview of the role we need you to fill for us: This position plans and monitors the flow of sub-assemblies across multiple work centers through the production cycle in an engineer-to-order environment. A successful candidate provides accurate input to Master Scheduling and Manufacturing through creation and validation of production run times on standard, and unique, parts and assemblies. In addition to these core duties, this position coordinates with Manufacturing and Engineering to create continuous improvements, provides detailed process and costs to Estimating and Engineering on complex prospective orders, and coordinates with Project Management to develop manufacturing costs on change orders for in-process work when applicable.

Principal Responsibilities

These skills and experiences will make you a good fit for this role:

  • Associates degree in Industrial Technologies or Industrial Engineering or related discipline is required; Bachelor’s degree in similar discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in production control or similar position in a manufacturing environment utilizing a software-based ERP/MRP system.
  • Knowledge of routing through multiple work centers from interpreting fabrication bills of materials in a structural steel engineer to order environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication principles with the ability to interpret shop drawings a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software.
  • Previous experience using SAP is preferred.
  • Experience introducing new processes into a production environment a plus.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing preferred. LEAN Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
