Watson Bowman Acme’s Bridge Sector reports a recent win with Walsh Construction on a critical infrastructure project in Illinois.

The Mile Long Bridge, as it is called, is owned by Illinois Tollway and is key to the Central Tri-State Tollway corridor. Above and beyond the roughly 150,000 daily vehicle count it sees, the roadway carries drivers over two major railroads, three water resources and local roads, and over a major distribution center for UPS and Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway.

Hats go off to Regional Sales Manager for Bridge and Highway products, Nick Graziani, who was instrumental in negotiating the substantial product package for the project. Partnering with WBA customer, Infrastructure Systems, WBA is supplying heavy duty fabricated Wabo®Modular systems packages, which will be more than capable to handling the demanding movement and loading requirements of the project. The systems specified will manage 12“ and 15“ of movement across the tollway.

Illinois‘ Mile Long Bridge project is scheduled to run through 2023.
